Although unplaced on both occasions, the numbers from the two starts to date for XARPO (12) stack up well for a race like this and the experience from them, combined with the rise to 1400m, suggests the daughter of The Autumn Sun deserves to be considered the testing material. CALIFORNIA FLYER (9) was well held on debut but showed good improvement second-up and a similar level of improvement third-up would see her very hard to beat. LEG DRIVE (6) is on debut but has shown enough at the jumpouts to suggest they've found the right on debut. Lot to like about his tough effort when travelling wide at his latest jumpout. SOUTHBY (7) is well-bred and from a strong stable who will find this much easier than his debut effort at The Valley, which was won by a smart type. KNIGHT ON THE ICE (5) hasn't been disgraced at two runs to date and might sneak into the minor money.
