Account authentication for Spanish players

Players have to verify their accounts in line with Spanish regulation. This means proving their age, identity and address by sending us documents.

Why do I need to validate my account?

This process helps to protect players and create a safe gaming environment by making sure that:

  • Vulnerable players, such as minors, can't access our services.
  • Each player has one account.
  • We reduce the risk of fraud and duplicate accounts.
  • A real person with an active mobile phone and email address created the account.
  • We have the means to contact our players if we need to.
How do I validate my account?

To complete the validation process, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Complete the Real Money form.
  • Step 2: Verify your account with documents.

Once we get your documents, we'll verify your account. Deposits and withdrawals will then be available to you.

Step 1: Complete the Real Money form

Fill out the form with your details.

Tips for successful validation on your first try:

  • We need to know your full name. If you don’t have a second name add two hyphens "--" or leave the field blank instead of a fake or duplicate name.
  • All fields have a maximum of 85 characters, except for the street name with a maximum of 150 characters.
  • House numbers and zip or postal code are limited to max. 20 characters.
  • House numbers cannot be 0, 00, 000...
  • Before going to the next step, make sure the information is correct to avoid any issues.
  • If you're a Spanish citizen or live in Spain:
    • Add your national ID number: DNI or NIE.
  • If you're a non-Spanish citizen and don't live in Spain:
    • Add your document ID number.
  • If you live in Spain:
    • Add your tax community.
Step 2: Verify your account with documents

Your account is set as 'temporary' until the verification is complete. This means that:

  • You’ll have a €150 deposit limit.
  • You can't withdraw any funds.
  • You can still play Poker, Vegas, and Sports.

If you send us the documents we need with a valid DNI or NIE, this will help us to complete the verification process for you. Neither will your account be suspended from real money activities.

1. Upload document Identification
  1. Select the type of identification document you want to upload.
  2. Choose whether you want to take a photo or upload the document from your device.

Make sure that:

  • Your ID is valid and hasn't expired.
  • All the details are clear and legible.
  • The four corners of the document are visible.
  • The lighting is good. To prevent any glare, don't use your device's flash.
  • You place the document on a plain background, like a white piece of paper.
  • We just need the front of the passport or driver’s license.
  • We can only verify a legible copy of the front and back of your national identification document.
  • If you're a Spanish citizen or live in Spain:
    • One of the documents you send us shows your DNI or NIE.
  • If you're a non-Spanish citizen and don't live in Spain:
    • One of the documents you send us shows your ID.

If you see an error message, select ‘Send documents now’. You'll get a new pop-up window where you can upload your documents directly.

  • Acceptable IDs for a Spanish citizen living in Spain:
    • National ID card
    • Passport

Log in to your account and upload your document here. If you get the ‘Error404’ on your screen, ignore it and log in.

  • Acceptable IDs for non-Spanish citizens and not living in Spain:
    • National ID card
    • Passport
    • Driver's license

Log in to your account and upload your document here. If you get the ‘Error404’ on your screen, ignore it and log in.

  • Acceptable IDs for a non-Spanish citizen who is not living in Spain and can't send the above documents:
    • Armed forces ID card
    • Mexican electoral card

Upload your chosen document here.

Another option:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Tap on your 'username'.
  3. Expand the ‘Stars Account Details' section.
  4. Select ‘Verify My Account'.
  5. Attach the documents and 'Send' them.
Acceptable ID examples:

Faces in the images are blurry for data protection reasons. These images are just examples. Make sure we can see your face on your copies.

  • National ID front page:

  • National ID back page

  • Passport

  • NIE Certificate

2. Upload proof of address - POA

We might ask you for POA. If so, upload your documents. Your full name, address and issue date must be visible.

You can send one of these documents:

  • Utility bills such as gas, water, electricity, internet, landline or TV bill. We can't accept insurance documents.
  • Bank statement no older than three months. We don't accept bank statements from online banks as valid proof of address.
    These are banks such as Revolut, Monese, Monzo, Atom, N26, Pockit Ltd, etc.
  • Credit card statement no older than three months.
  • Tenancy agreement with date and signature.
  • Employer letter.
  • Tax or government letter.
  • Household or motor insurance certificate no older than 12 months.

Make sure that:

  • All the details are clear and legible.
  • The four corners of the document are visible.
  • Your current address is visible and matches the one registered in the Real Money form.
  • The document is not older than three months.

Log in to your account and upload your document here. If you get the ‘Error404’ on your screen, ignore it and log in.

Another option:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Tap on your 'username'
  3. Expand ‘Stars Account Details' section.
  4. Select ‘Verify My Account'.
  5. Attach the documents and ‘Send’ them.

If you see an error message, select ‘Send documents now’. You'll get a new pop-up window where you can upload your documents directly.

  • We can't accept bank statements from online banks as valid proof of address. These are banks such as Revolut, Monese, Monzo, Atom, N26, Pockit Ltd, etc.
  • Check that one of the documents includes your DNI or NIE.
Can I play while abroad or just in Spain?
  • Playing abroad
    • As a Spanish resident, you can legally play on our .ES platform while traveling abroad without restrictions. As long as that is allowed in the country you’re visiting.
  • Playing in Spain
  • If you are a resident of Spain but don't have a DNI or NIE, you can't complete the Real Money form and play real money games.
Things you should know
  • You can't access your .ES account if you're in France or Portugal. This is because of a regulatory agreement between the three countries.
  • Non-Spanish residents can open an account on .ES and use it from abroad. So, you'll see nationalities other than French, Portuguese, and Spanish at the poker-shared liquidity tables.
  • Unless you're in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Colorado, you can't play real money games in the US or US territories.
  • In countries with local online gaming regulations, you'll need to follow the requirements of that region. For example, verification process, account validation, etc.
