A rising star of Twitch poker and an online tournament specialist, Danish pro Lasse Jagd Lauritsen is the challenge master of PokerStars Team Pro.
After learning the game from a friend, Lasse fell in love with poker straight away. He began playing professionally at 19 years of age, dropping out of studying finance at university to pursue his dream. He has since become one of the best-known poker players on Twitch.
Lasse loves every aspect of streaming. One of his greatest moments came when fellow PokerStars Team Pro member Lex Veldhuis raided his stream. ‘Raiding’ is where a streamer sends all of their viewers to another streamer’s channel before they go offline, and is a well-known technique to help other streamers bolster their viewer and subscriber count. He remembers the date well; April 19, 2019.
Since then, he’s been streaming regularly and creating great content, with viewers taking well to the relaxed, laid-back attitude he brings to the tables. A fan of setting himself fun challenges, you will often find Lasse partway through a bankroll challenge or driving towards a target in his content creation.
Joining PokerStars Team Pro is an honor that he is very proud of, saying, “It is an extremely exclusive club of incredibly talented individuals, and I am truly honored to be a part of this group. This is what I was striving for to achieve, it means more than people realize.”
Since becoming a streamer and full-time professional, one of Lasse’s personal highlights includes winning US$5,000 when he finished 7th in the 2018 edition of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), one of the biggest events in any pro’s calendar.
Lasse plays online poker exclusively at PokerStars, where he plays under the name ‘Wistern’.
